About Me

Hi, my name is Talya.  As you follow my writings in Taste and Sea Reflections, I am sure you will come to know many things about me.  However, I will take this opportunity to share a little background and a few points of interest.  Sun, sand, and sea have always been a part of my world.  I was born and raised in Northeast Florida.  My family heritage comes from a trio of islands in the Western Caribbean known as the Cayman Islands.  I had the pleasure of living there for about 5 years during my early adulthood.  Upon returning to the states, I moved to the Tampa Bay area and enjoyed the west coast of Florida for about 8 years.  Now I call Northeast Florida home again.  I have had the privilege of traveling to most of the continental U.S. and have seen a variety of spectacular landscapes.  I was enamored with the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. I was captivated by the deserts and canyons of Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.  Still, there is no other state I would rather call home than Florida.  Living in Florida is kinda like living the island life without being on an actual island.  There are palm trees, tropical breezes, and beautiful coastal vistas on almost every side.  There is just something about sandy beaches and the soothing sound of waves that I find to be serenity.  That is why I chose to make Coastal Florida my primary focus for Taste and Sea Reviews.

As you have already surmised from this blog, I am a big lover of travel and food.  I love to experience new things, new places and different cultures.  I am zealous for taking photos, which I attribute to my love of art and my artistic side.  I have a deep love for nature and appreciation for God’s creation.  I am an introvert, so blogging suits my vehicle for expression perfectly. My faith is at the core of who I am and influences every aspect of my life.  I want to be a light and an example for others.  I find joy in bringing hope and encouragement to those who God allows me to sow into their lives.  I look forward to the places that this blog will take me in my travels and in my spiritual journey.  I do not know what the future holds, but I pray it includes sand between my toes, near turquoise blue waters and surrounded by the people I love.
